Eva Fortuño Escriche (1991), graduated in Artistic Jewellery since 2020 at Massana School of Art, is an artistic maker active in the field of contemporary jewellery and design based in Barcelona. In 2014 she graduated in Graphic Design, field in which she worked for 4 years. In 2017 she decided to move into contemporary jewellery, and since then has been developing her work combining digital technologies and traditional hand skills. As a result of this mixture, pieces emerge in a quest to find harmony between the visual and tactile properties of completely opposite materials.
“My series OBSESSĬO is a project that seeks to evoke stimuli in people. The pieces are inspired by the shape of the circle -known as the most pure geometrical form-, and I believe that all shapes related to it convey the same sensation of calm and infinity. To build my pieces I mix artisan techniques such as wool felting with digital technologies and 3D nylon printing. I feel the machine as an extension of myself as an artist, a tool that allows me to make pieces where mathematics play a key role in conveying the beauty of the object. As a result, pieces emerge in a quest to find harmony between the visual and tactile properties of completely opposite materials. My hope is that people get closer to a peaceful mental state while staring, touching, or even playing with my creations.”
