Anna Vlahos is an Australian jewellery artist, currently living and working in Athens, Greece. She received a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) Honours from Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia, in 2002 with a major in printmaking and a minor in painting. She then went on to complete a Certificate IV in Jewellery Design and Manufacture.
In 2007 she moved to Athens, Greece and since then, she has been working as a studio jeweller, her work being shown in exhibitions internationally.
Anna’s work stems from an interest in pattern making in both the ancient world and the natural world, drawing from her history in two dimensional printmaking. Inspiration is taken from the rich history of surface design of ancient Greece, using this to rebuild a new nature, from memories and histories and with a sense of loss to the natural world that is disappearing now.
Since mid 2019 she started a project before his Little Forest exhibition, which took place at Bridget Kennedy Project Space in Sydney, Australia. She Sponsor the planting of one tree per gram of silver (or other metal) in all the pieces she sells. She sponsor the planting of trees with Eden Reforestation Projects, and she donate an amount of $0.125 per gram (their general tree planting cost is listed at $0.10US)
